As a nonprofit publisher, Donate Media operates with a duty of care to the public. Our ethics and standards guide how we report, write, and publish.

Conflicts of Interest

Contributors must disclose any financial, personal, or organizational relationships that could influence coverage. We avoid assignments where conflicts cannot be managed transparently.

Sources and Anonymity

We protect sources when there is a clear risk of harm or retaliation. Anonymous sourcing is used sparingly and only when information is essential and cannot be obtained otherwise.

Respect and Harm Reduction

We avoid language that stigmatizes, dehumanizes, or exploits individuals or communities. We are especially careful when covering trauma, grief, or vulnerable groups.

Donor and Sponsor Influence

Donors and sponsors do not control editorial decisions. We may acknowledge funding support, but coverage is not bought, traded, or promised.
